Biographie

André SIX

André Six was the silver medallist in the underwater swimming event when it was held at the Olympics for the one and only time. A member of the Tritons Lillois swimming club, his good friend, and fellow club member, Charles Devendeville won the gold medal. Six enlisted in the French Amy in 1910 and served two years. However, as a reservist, he was called up for further service in August 1914 and was killed in an accident the following April whilst serving at Fort de Chelles, Seine et Marne. His friend Devendeville had been killed in action just six months earlier.
