A versatile athlete, Viggo Jensen competed in four different sports, with his best performances coming in the weightlifting. He beat Elliot of Britain on style in the two-handed event, becoming Denmark's first Olympic champion. He injured himself while doing so, and placed second in the single-handed competition. Jensen added a third place in the free rifle shooting, and two fourth places in the shot put and the rope climb. After becoming a two-time Olympian in Paris, Jensen became an architect, working in Moscow during the 1920s.
