Biografía

In a competition that lasted five hours, Bob King took the 1928 Olympic high jump at 6-4¼ (1.93). This was well below Harold Osborn’s Olympic record, although by clearing 6-6¾ (2.00) earlier in the season, King had shown that he was clearly the best high jumper in the world in 1928. While at Stanford, Bob King won the IC4A high jump in 1926; in 1927 he won the AAU; and in 1928 he won the IC4A, the NCAA, and tied for first place at the AAU. After serving as president of his senior class at Stanford, King went to medical school and later became a well-known obstetrician.

Personal Best: HJ – 1.997 (1928).
