Olga JORDAN-JENSCH

Olga Jensch-Jordan had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1931 European Championships 3 metre springboard, 1st in the 1934 European Championships 3 metre springboard. In the 1931 European Championships she competed under her maiden name Olga Jordan.

She competed at the 1932 Olympics in diving where Dr. Arthur Jensch was the vice Chef de Mission of Germany for those Games, and they would later marry. As an SS Storm Trooper, Dr. Jensch was killed in action in 1945 when the Red Army conquered Berlin. Olga Jensch-Jordan eventually became better known for her extensive coaching success, her pupils winning 21 Championships for the former GDR. In 1948 Jensch-Jordan became co-founder of the German Sports Federation and in 1951 the NOC of East Germany. She was the mother-in-law of Dieter Pophal.
