Biografía

It is often wondered if there is something miraculous about Mark ‘Mark’ McMorris (1993).

Born and raised in Saskatchewa, that one of the most decorated athletes in snowboarding history should grow up in the flatlands is something of a mystery, but then when it comes McMorris there is often a blurred line between what is possible and impossible.

Family ski and snowboarding holidays helped turn McMorris’ passion for snow sports into something more. At 11 he joined the Saskatchwean Snowboard Team and soon began competing in slopestyle contests around Canada.

In 2011 it was clear that he was destined for something great after the Canadian won a silver medal in the slopestyle at his first ever X Games. Shortly after, his burgeoning career then hit the big time when he made history after landing the first ever backside triple cork 1440 at Snowmass park in Colorado.

A year later, McMorris doubled down on his promise after he won double gold at the 2012 X Games in Big Air and slopestyle. It was the first double gold at a Winter X Games since three-time Olympic gold medallist Shaun White achieved the feat in 2009.
