Biografía

Bud Houser's double victory at the 1924 Games is the last time that anyone has succeeded in winning both the shot and discus at the same Olympics. He set an Olympic record in the discus, which he further improved when he won the title for a second time in 1928. Between Olympics, Houser set a world record for the discus with 158-1¾ (48.18) in 1926. While he was at Southern Cal, Houser won the NCAA discus in 1926 and at the AAU he won the shot twice and the discus three times. After graduation, he became a dentist, practicing in Palm Springs.
