Biografía

At the 1928 Southwestern Olympic Trials, Leighton Dye won the high hurdles in 14 3/5, breaking the world record, although it was never ratified. He also equaled the world record at the Olympics in the first semi-final, running 14 4/5. That was also not ratified as the eventual Olympic champion, George Weightman-Smith ran 14 3/5 in the second semi-final, which was ratified and superseded Dye's mark. Dye was AAU 110 hurdles champion in 1926.
