Biografía

Sprinter Jutta Stöck, daughter of 1936 Olympic javelin champion Gerhard Stöck, finished eighth and last in the 200 final at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, despite setting a new German record. She also finished sixth with the sprint relay. At the European Championships she earned two silvers with the sprint relay in 1966 and 1969, and in 1966 Stöck came in seventh in the 100. Jutta Stöck won three consecutive West German relay titles in 1966-68. By profession Stöck was a bank clerk. She married Peter Hertel, a 1966 rowing world champion in coxed eights, and their son Ole Hertel became a very good shot putter and discus thrower.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.5 (1966); 200 – 23.25 (1968).
