Biografía

Howard Siler was a nine-time national champion in bobsledding. Siler also won a bronze medal in the 4-man event at the 1969 World Championships. He represented the Lake Placid Bobsled Club throughout his career. Siler’s business career was as an insurance agent for Combined Life of New York. He later achieved some fame as the coach of the 1988 Jamaican bobsled team that was portrayed in the movie Cool Runnings. Siler was the inspiration for the John Candy character in the movie that coached the Jamaican bobsledders.
