Biografía

Born on the Caribbean island of Martinique, Fabrice Jeannet has been consistently among the world's best foil fencers ever since his first World Junior title in 2000. Jeannet's first senior medals came at the 2001 World Championships (bronze individually and with the team). A year later, he contested the final in both events, winning with the team but losing individually. In Havana 2003, Fabrice Jeannet grabbed the individual world title, beating Maksym Khvorost in the final. This has remained his only individual title, but Jeannet has earned five team titles since. Comprising also his brother Jérôme Jeannet, the French team was victorious at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, as well as at the 2005, 2006 and 2007 World Championships. Jeannet failed to medal individually in Athens, being eliminated by team mate Éric Boisse, but went on to earn a silver medal at the Beijing Games. He quit sports to pursue a career in IT after the Games.
