Biografía

Katy Rodolph grew up skiing in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In 1949 she won the first US giant slalom championship, and was named to the 1950 US team for the World Championships, where she placed in the top 10 in all three events. After the 1952 Winter Olympics Rodolph competed in the 1954 World Championships, finishing fifth in giant slalom. Although she made the 1956 Winter Olympic team, she crashed in Kitzbühel, Austria shortly before the Games, breaking three vertebrae, and was unable to compete. During her career she won nine national titles, winning slalom, downhill, and combined in both 1951 and 1953. Rodolph later became a ski official, working as an FIS Technical Delegate and a member of the Rocky Mountain Ski Race Officials.
