Biografía

In his youth, Andrzej Sztolf competed in both ski jumping in athletics, notably in high jumping and pole vault. His abilities were best in the ski jump, joining the junior national team in 1956. A forerunner at the 1962 World Championships in Zakopane, Sztolf made his international senior début in the 1962/1963 season. The following season was probably his best, placing 10th in the competition at Bischofshofen, one of the competitions in the Four Hills Tournament. He also jumped at the Olympics (26th), and won a bronze at the Winter Universiade in Špindlerův Mlýn (TCH). His only Polish national titles came in 1965, on the normal hill and large hill, and a year later he won a second Universiade medal in Sestriere, silver now. Sztolf retired in 1970 and completed his mechanical engineering studies at Kraków Technical University. During his career, he had various jobs, ranging from ski instructor and taxi driver to business owner.
