Patrice Buisson

Patrice Buisson will carry the Olympic torch. This is his story:

For Patrice, sport is an engine of social insertion. He is a job counsellor who puts recruiters face to face with jobseekers in sport-themed meetings. Social barriers simply melt away on a running track or rugby pitch.

A French Athletics Federation licence holder and marathon runner, Patrice once dreamed of becoming an Olympic gold medallist, but at age 56, he understands that it is not going to happen. Even so, Paris 2024 is a formidable opportunity for him to play a part in the Olympic Games in his home country as a torchbearer.
