Estelle Ruffier will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:
Estelle is a volunteer with the association that fights cystic fibrosis “Vaincre La Mucoviscidose”, with which she strives to promote research, improve patients’ quality of life and raise public awareness. Among the various projects in which she is involved, the Souffle d'Espoir (a breath of hope) pass is of particular importance.
This scheme aims to facilitate professional integration of patients suffering from cystic fibrosis. With the emergence of new treatments to fight the disease, certain patients’ quality of life has considerably improved. Until now, cystic fibrosis has often monopolised their daily lives, limiting their opportunities for professional integration.
Today, these medical advances offer new prospects, but the challenge now lies in helping patients find fulfilling employment. Through the Souffle d'Espoir Pass, the association examines applications and grants financial or human assistance to help patients realise their career plans. The aim is clear: to give every patient the opportunity to live life to the full and find their place in society.
