Carlo Edouard Ralph Rabathaly will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s his story:

Carlo was introduced to football at an early age, a family legacy that has been passed down from generation to generation. His dedication to the sport led to him joining the senior team of the town of Le Diamant, and to proudly represent the Martinique national team. Carlo made rapid progress from the outset thanks to his hard work.

Currently captain of his team, he inherited the armband because of his natural leadership qualities and ability to communicate effectively with his teammates, while proudly representing his town and island on the pitch. Convinced that sport fosters social cohesion, Carlo believes that he has personally benefited from playing football, a sport that has allowed him to open up and express his emotions. He feels sport is a school of life, teaching positive values and principles that enrich the lives of those who embrace them. At 23, Carlo sees carrying the Olympic Torch as a priceless honour.
