Aurélie Bacelon

Aurélie Bacelon will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:

Aurélie embodies the sporting spirit in all its forms. Whether as a top-level athlete, coach, referee or volunteer official, she has been involved in the world of sport for 18 years, putting her stamp on the development of everyone she has encountered, whether young or old, amateur or professional, male or female, in all neighbourhoods and social backgrounds.

Aurélie is convinced that sport promotes personal development by boosting self-confidence as well as cultivating perseverance and she devotes her passion and commitment to building groups and projects aimed at creating a caring society. She works tirelessly to make dreams come true and offer moments of fulfilment, while promoting encounters and exchanges between people.

For her, the Olympic spirit can be summed up as the spirit of living together, cooperation and mutual respect, with a marked desire to educate the young and pass on life values and skills to them. As a sports ambassador in the Essonne since 2018, Aurélie embodies these ideals and aims to promote them even more widely during the Paris 2024 Games.
