Agathe Cornilleau

Agathe Cornilleau will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

Starting as a gymnast and later volunteering as a coach in multiple regional clubs, Agathe is a force of nature. The 26-year-old is a dedicated PE teacher who instils sporting values in her students, whom she loves to bits, including the more hesitant ones. With her infectious positivity, everyone finds a win in adversity.

Always on the lookout for creativity and innovation, she introduces new projects to her students every year: hunger-relief runs, skiing adventures with Adapted General and Vocational Education Sections, and introductory sessions to the sports debuting at the 2024 Olympics… Her artistic flair shines through with two decades of competitive gymnastics. Just last year, she was enlisted to instruct gymnastics at STAPS (sports and physical activity sciences), and even dealing with the older students proved to be a "remarkable experience".

She takes these values global with a humanitarian initiative in northern India, dedicating her time to a modest school. The young learners from Ladakh (nestled in the heart of the Himalayas) will remember her PE sessions forever. This noble cause comes to life thanks to SOTHI association. She also gathered 20 kg of school supplies to donate to those in need. If it were up to Agathe, the Olympic Games would be held every year. Instead, every four years she watches them on TV and now, in 2024, from the stands. The sparkle of the Games will shine in her eyes!
