Yuzuru Hanyu puts the 'win' into Winnie the Pooh!

Fans go wild as Japanese figure skater does it again

He may only be 23 years old, but Yuzuru Hanyu is already a figure skating legend.

The Japanese seemingly defied logic by retaining his Olympic title at PyeongChang 2018 just three months after a serious ankle injury.

As if Hanyu’s personal achievements weren’t enough, it was Japan’s first gold of the Games (in a one-two finish) and his compatriots were quick to show their seemingly infinite love for him, as were a host of fellow figure skating medallists.

But one other character that has created almost as many headlines is Winnie the Pooh. Mostly because it started raining Pooh bears on the ice as soon as Hanyu finished his routine, as has become tradition.

The skating superstar’s performance wasn’t flawless but he landed complex jumps towards the end of his routine (when skaters are most fatigued), which won the hearts of judges and the internet alike.

Here one Yuzuru Hanyu fan has listed what he likes about the skater, in a very specific order. Like it’s the best Winter Olympics package deal ever.

This digital mock-up was surely supposed to be cute, but makes the lovable bear look somewhat creepy. Maybe one for the Korean fans?

Speaking of creepy, looks like Yuruzu now has some slightly more clingy fans to contend with...

For all the people that doubted the double Olympic champion, the message is clear.
