There will be more than gold, silver and bronze on offer at the 2023 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Valencia, Spain, as 14 individual and five group quotas for Paris 2024 are up for grabs at the event.
The competition is set for 23 to 27 August.
In the individual competition, Italy's Sofia Raffaeli, who dominated the 2022 edition winning five of six possible gold medals, will be back looking for more glory. So far, her 2023 season has included two World Cup all-around wins and a silver medal in the all-around at the European Championships, where Boryana Kaleyn of Bulgaria grabbed the title.
In addition to Raffaeli and Kaleyn, other top contenders include 2022 European all-around winner Daria Atamanov of Israel, who had to withdraw just before the start of last year's Worlds due to injury, Stiliana Nikolova of Bulgaria and Darja Varfolomeev of Germany.
The group competition will likely be a battle between Bulgaria and Israel who have finished first and second, respectively, at the 2022 Worlds and the 2023 European Championships. Bulgaria are the reigning Olympic gold medallists.
