The X Games are back for the 2024 season with a lot of focus on two-time Olympic champion Chloe Kim who made her first X Games appearance since 2021. And the US superstar did not disappoint becoming the first woman to land a 1260 in snowboard competition.
Kim also tied Kelly Clark's record for most wins (7) by winning the women's superpipe.
"I really wanted to do that trick for a long time," said the 23-year-old during the broadcast. "I wish it was little cleaner, but I'm really stoked that I was able to put it down."
Double Olympic champion Ailing (Eileen) Gu also returned to the X Games after missing last year's competition due to injury. Gu won the the freeski halfpipe with a score of 95.66.
The 27th edition of the X Games began on Friday 26 January and runs through Monday, 29 January.
