The Wimbledon 2024 tennis Grand Slam gets underway at the All England Club in London, Great Britain from Monday.

Wimbledon is the penultimate Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year and it will conclude with the men’s singles final scheduled on July 14. The Wimbledon 2024 tournament will be available on live streaming and live telecast in India.

All eyes will be on defending men’s singles champion Carlos Alcaraz at the All England Club. The Spaniard picked up his third Grand Slam title after winning the French Open in June. Last year, he defeated record 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic of Serbia 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to claim his first Wimbledon title.

Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, recently withdrew from the French Open following a knee injury but will be back in action here.

Australian Open champion and world No. 1 Jannik Sinner of Italy will also be in contention for the big prize. He reached the semi-finals of the Wimbledon last year before losing to eventual runner-up Novak Djokovic.

In the women’s singles event, world No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland is searching for her first Wimbledon title. The four-time French Open champion reached the last eight in 2023.

Marketa Vondrousova of Czechia will be defending her title after beating Ons Jabeur of Tunisia in the Wimbledon final last year to win her first Grand Slam.

Meanwhile, world No. 2 Coco Gauff of the USA will also be in contention after reaching the semi-finals of both the Australian Open and the French Open earlier this year. Two-time Grand Slam winner Aryna Sabalenka will also be in action.
