USA Gymnastics sets men's team for 2022 Worlds in Liverpool

The announcement comes after a two-day selection competition in Colorado Springs

Brody Malone and Donnell Whittenburg have their teammates for the for 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool, England.

After a two-day selection camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, USA Gymnastics announced Wednesday (5 October) that newcomers Asher Hong *_and *_Colt Walker and 2021 world pommel horse champion Stephen Nedoroscik are headed to the global stage, joining Malone and Whittenburg, who locked their spots based off results from August's U.S. Championships.

Tokyo 2020 Olympian Yul Moldauer was selected as replacement athlete.

In Liverpool, the U.S. will vie for not only world titles but tickets to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The top three men's and women's teams will earn their National Olympic Committee a five-gymnast team at the Games.

The U.S. women will determine their World Championships team at a selection camp later this month in Houston, Texas. Competition there is scheduled for 21-22 October with U.S. runner-up Shilese Jones, and 2021 world all-around silver medallist Leanne Wong expected to take on Olympic floor champion Jade Carey and team silver medallist Jordan Chiles with berths to the squad on the line.
