World No. 1 Deepika Kumari will be the sole archer in the women’s individual ranking round. Her husband Atanu Das and compatriots Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav will be in action in the men’s individual ranking rounds.

The scores in the ranking round will determine the starting seeds for the men’s and women’s individual competitions as well as the team events.

Later in the evening, 26 members of the Indian contingent - from the boxing, table tennis, rowing, gymnastics and fencing teams - will be seen during the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium.

Olympic bronze medallist Mary Kom and men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh will be the Indian flag-bearers at the opening ceremony, the first time India will have two flag-bearers.

India’s shooting, tennis, weightlifting, badminton, and judo contingents are expected to skip the opening ceremony as most of them will be in action on Saturday (July 24).
