Great Britain's Olympic team may be long gone from Paris 2024, but their actions have left a considerable imprint on the local community in France's capital.

As a sign of their gratitude towards the hosts, Team GB donated equipment and food to French charities.

“Our French hosts have been wonderful in extending a welcome to us and our athletes,” Hugh Robertson, head of the British Olympic Association, said.

“So it is an absolute pleasure that, where we can, we give something back to those communities.”

From king-size mattresses and furniture to food, their donations will be distributed into French communities through the charity Les Restos du Coeur, meaning 'The Restaurants of the Heart" in English.

Food will also be passed on to food banks in Reims and Saint-Denis, where British competitors were based in the Athletes’ Village.

Team GB is also donating sports equipment to Clichy, which served as the athletes’ performance lodge, and Saint Germain-en-Laye and Reims, where many of the British competitors trained in preparation for the Games.
