The wait for Tokyo 2020 all-around Olympic gold medallist Sunisa Lee's return to elite gymnastics competition is coming to a close.

The 20-year-old confirmed she will register August's U.S. Classic in a post on Twitter saying, "I wasn’t registered yet, but now, I am... See you there!"

The tweet came after the U.S. gymnastics federation posted start lists for the competition that did not include the Minnesota-native.

Lee, whose sophomore season at Auburn University was cut short due to a non-gymnastics, kidney related health issue, had previously not commented publicly on her return to elite competition; however, USA Gymnastics announced she would compete at the U.S. Classic late last month.

Confirmation from Lee comes nearly a week after she told fans during an Instagram story Q&A on Wednesday (12 July) that her health concerns had been continuing to keep her in and out of training and she was taking things "day-by-day."

Lee's last elite competiiton was the Tokyo 2020 Games where claimed team silver and uneven bars bronze, in addition to her golden triumph in the all-around.
