Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Rayssa Leal topped the women's standings after the preliminaries of the 2022 Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Jacksonville leg on Saturday (16 July).

Eight skaters advanced to the final set to take place on Sunday.

The teenage Brazilian sensation stole the headlines and elevated the competition in both the line and trick sections. She will be joined by two fellow Brazilians in the final: 2021 Super Crown champion Pamela Rosa and Sao Paulo native Gabi Mazetto.

Olympic champion Nishiya Momiji finished the day in third place, while her compatriots Oda Yumeka (second) and 2019 super crown champion Nishimura Aori (fifth) made it a memorable day for Japan.

Jacksonville native Poe Pinson was the only skater from the USA to make the final, while Roos Zwetsloot will be flying the flag for the Netherlands in the final.

The points were tallied from the line section, which consisted of two 45-second line attempts, and the single tricks section, which consisted of four single trick attempts. The top line score was then added to the top two single trick scores to determine the eight skaters advancing to Sunday's final.

Leal and Rosa both attempted audacious tricks on their final trick runs to give the watching world a sneak peek of what to expect in tomorrow's finals.
