Let Abhinav Bindra teach you how to manage stress!
The shooting greats will conduct an online session ‘How to sleep a night before the Games’ which will talk about various techniques to deal with stress and emotions.
Following their collaboration on the ‘Mark A Mark’ project, Olympic champions Abhinav Bindra and Niccolo Campriani are set to join forces once again, this time for an hour-long session on stress management.
The session, part of an online summer festival hosted by the Worldwide Olympic partner Airbnb, is scheduled for July 28.
Titled ‘How to sleep a night before the Games’, the event will see the shooting greats dwell on techniques to manage stress and methods to deal with the inner thoughts and emotions.
The veteran shooters, both Olympic champions, will also explore visualisation techniques like hypnosis, neurofeedback, biofeedback and more to help their audiences manage stress.
The event will also see the duo present a series of anecdotes from their career and examples that contain transferable skills which are applicable in and beyond their discipline.
The Airbnb Summer Festival of Olympic and Paralympic Online Experiences, which kick-started on July 24, will run till July 29 with over 100 Olympians and Paralympians connecting with fans from the comfort of their houses.
Few of the big names include the two-time tennis Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, Tonga’s Pita Taufatofua, American track great Allyson Felix and Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza, who is slated to host her session on the same day.
Other Indian athletes who are hosting such sessions are luger and six-time winter Olympian Shiva Keshavan and Shivani Kataria, a Rio 2016 Olympian.
Opportunity to know the stars better
Speaking about the initiative to the Olympic Channel, Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia said that it was an attempt to help the elite athletes connect with their fans at a deeper level.
“At a time when it is difficult for people to gather and celebrate the exceptional performance of athletes, Airbnb is proud to host the summer festival, which is a new way to experience the Olympic and Paralympic spirit online,” Joe Gebbia had said.
“Guests will be able to connect and interact with some of the most elite competitors within the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, giving them even more reasons to cheer them on next year.”
Abhinav Bindra and Niccolo Campriani have been working together on the ‘Make A Mark’ project -- the brainchild of the Italian champion shooter -- an initiative to help three refugee shooters attempt to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics next year.
Their journey so far has been documented in an Olympic Channel Original series Taking Refuge: Target Tokyo 2020.
