Sprinting legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and diver Yona Knight-Wisdom will serve as captains for Team Jamaica at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Fraser-Pryce will be competing at her fifth and final Games in the 100m and 4x100m relay, hoping to add more silverware to her eight Olympic medals.
The 37-year-old superstar was supposed to race on Tuesday (16 July) at Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern in Switzerland but said she "felt something" during pre-race warm-ups and pulled out.
The meet in Luzern would have been the three-time Olympic gold medallist's first international race of the season.
The Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) has nominated 58 athletes for Paris: 54 athletes in track and field, two swimmers, one judoka and Knight-Wisdom who became Jamaica's first-ever male diver at the Rio 2016 Olympics. Paris 2024 will be his third Games.
