Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce started her season in style by running 11.15 seconds in the women's 100m at the 2024 JAAA Olympic French Foray.

The three-time Olympic champion is back on the track after almost 300 days out injured, and targeting a place at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, which she confirmed will be her last Olympic Games if selected.

She began her preparations at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica, where she won the women’s 100m sprint on Saturday ahead of Jodean Smith and Sabrina Dockery.

The Olympic French Foray, designed by the Jamaican Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), is designed to help Jamaican athletes prepare for the Games in Paris in July.

The meet comes before the 2024 Jamaica National Championships, which serve as Jamaica’s Olympic trials, to be held between 27-30 June.

Fraser-Pryce made her Olympics debut at Beijing 2008, where she won the first of two women’s 100m gold medals. Her third gold medal came at Tokyo 2020, held in 2021, as part of the women’s 4 x 100m relay team. She also has four silvers and a bronze to her name.
