Juventus travel to face an in-form Sassuolo side hoping to get back to winning ways, after two consecutive losses against AC Milan and Atalanta, respectively, in the Serie A.

Though the Italian giants remain the favourites to win the fixture, Sassuolo are riding high in confidence after four consecutive victories in the league and will not make it easy for the Old Lady. You can see the Sassuolo vs Juventus match live in India.

Where they stand in the Serie A table

Despite the recent setbacks, Juventus lead the Serie A points table by six points and are widely expected to win the title for the ninth consecutive time. They have collected 76 points after 32 matches.

Sassuolo, on the other hand, have found form of late with their last victory coming against second-placed Lazio. They sit eighth on the Serie A table with 46 points after 32 matches.

Likely starting line-ups

Sassuolo: Andrea Consigli, Mert Müldür, Gian Marco Ferrari, Vlad Chiricheș, Rogério, Francesco Magnanelli, Manuel Locatelli, Domenico Berardi, Filip Djuricic, Jeremie Boga, Francesco Caputo

Juventus: Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Matthijs De Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Adrien Rabiot, Miralem Pjanic, Rodrigo Bentancur; Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Federico Bernardeschi

Injury updates and team news

Sassuolo manager Roberto De Zerbi will be without Grégoire Defrel, midfielder Pedro Obiang and defender Filippo Romagna.

While Romagna remains a long-term absentee after undergoing an unsuccessful surgery on his knee, Defrel was sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury last week and is expected to be out for two weeks. Obiang, on the other hand, has struggled to return to match fitness.

The biggest miss for Juventus will be right-back Juan Cuadrado, who will serve his suspension.

Apart from that, Juventus have no new injury concerns with Sami Khedira and Matt De Sciglio continue to be on the sidelines. Though defender Merih Demiral has returned to training, Maurizio Sarri is expected to give him time.

Sassuolo vs Juventus head-to-head

Promoted to Serie A for the first time in 2013-14, Sassuolo haven’t had many top-flight encounters with Juventus.

The two have clashed only 13 times in the league since then with Juventus winning on 10 occasions and Sassuolo pulling off an unlikely win in the 2015-16 season at home.

The reverse fixture this season, however, saw Sassuolo holding the Old Lady to a 2-2 draw.

Players to watch out for

Sassuolo will be relying heavily on striker Francesco Caputo upfront. The Italian forward has 16 goals and six assists under his belt this season so far.

Juventus’ key man will be Cristiano Ronaldo, whose brace got Juventus a precious point against Atalanta. The Portuguese international could overtake Lazio striker Ciro Immobile as the league’s top-scorer as the former Real Madrid man (28 goals) trails by just one goal.
