Coming at the back of two consecutive league wins since returning from the COVID break, Juventus will look to extend their momentum when they travel to face Genoa. This match can be watched live in India.

The hosts have struggled in the league with their last game ending in a 4-1 loss at the hands of Parma. Genoa have lost 14 games this season with their last win coming in March against Milan.

Where they stand in the Serie A table

Genoa currently sit 17th on the Serie A points table, one spot above the relegation zone, as they look to extend the gap to 18th placed Lecce.

Juventus, with 69 points, lead the Serie A table by four points with Lazio second. After a close fight with Inter Milan, the defending champions are now running away with the title yet again.

Injury updates and team news

Genoa will be without defensive midfielder Ivan Radovanovic, who is out with a long-term injury. Apart from him, the hosts’ captain Domenico Criscito has been sidelined with a hamstring problem while striker Antonio Sanabria is a doubt for the big clash due to muscle fatigue.

Juventus have a host of injuries of their own. Midfielder Blaise Matuidi played the left-back position last match against Lecce because Danilo was suspended while both Alex Sandro and Mattia de Sciglio were injured. The situation hasn’t changed.

In the midfield, Sami Khedira is injured although Juventus has enough reinforcements in that area. In the central defence, both Merih Demiral and Giorgio Chiellini are out with injury.

Genoa vs Juventus head-to-head

A giant in the Italian top-flight, Juventus have enjoyed success over Genoa over the years. The Old Lady has played Genoa 28 times prior to this with Juventus winning on 18 occasions and drawing six times.

In the reverse fixture in Turin earlier this season, Juventus got the better of Genoa 2-1 with Leonardo Bonucci and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the goals.

Players to watch out for

Cristiano Ronaldo remains Juventus’ biggest source of success this season as well, with the Portuguese international scoring 23 goals so far and providing five assists. Apart from him, Paulo Dybala and Rodrigo Bentancur have been lively in the attacking third.

Genoa have Goran Pandev taking care of the goals this season with the striker scoring seven times so far. With Andrea Pinamonti and Iago Falque getting on the scoresheet as well in the last match, Davide Nicola will have options upfront to hit Juventus on the counter.
