After being pushed to a three arrow shoot-off against the People’s Republic of China, Republic of Korea were able to capture their tenth consecutive gold medal in women's archery team at Paris 2024 by a final point score of 5-4 on Sunday (28 July).
China took home the silver, their fifth ever in the event.

The Republic of Korea were led by the trio of Jeon Hunyoung, Lim Sihyeon and Nam Suhyeon, who were clutch in the three arrow shoot-off after initially leading 4-0.

Korea won set one 56-53 before winning set two 55-54. The People’s Republic of China team, which featured An Qixuan, Li Jiaman and Yang Xiaolei, responded well to their early deficit winning set three 54-51 and set four 55-53 to force the shoot-off where they came up just short.

In fact, it took a judge's review after the final arrow was shot to confirm the Republic of Korea's victory, 29-27 and 5-4 overall.

Earlier in the day, Mexico defeated the Netherlands in the bronze medal match by a final score of six sets to two, including three straight 10’s to clinch their spot on the podium. The Dutch team upset France and India on their way to the semi-final before losing to Korea 5-4 and ending up in the bronze medal match. The Mexican team was led by Angela Ruiz, Alejandra Valencia and Ana Vazquez.
