The countdown for the Premier League 2020-21 season has officially begun!

The English Premier League, on Thursday, announced the full list of fixtures for the 2020-21 season, with matches kicking off from September 12 and ending on May 23 in 2021.

Due to the late conclusion of the 2019-20 Premier League season because of COVID, the 2020-21 season will be played over 32 weekends, five midweeks, and one bank holiday in England.

A typical EPL season has 34 weekends, three midweeks, and one bank holiday.

Indian football fans can tune in from the opening day for live tv broadcast and online streaming coverage of every round of the EPL fixtures.

Champions Liverpool in action on opening day

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool will be in action at home on the opening day of the new season, against newly promoted side Leeds United.

Champions Liverpool will begin their Premier League title defence from September 12.

Leeds, once considered giants in English football, are back in the top flight after a 16-year-long hiatus and there’s a lot of interest among Indian football fans to watch how Marcelo Bielsa's Whites fare against Jurgen Klopp’s charges on their Premier League return

The match kicks off at Anfield at 3 PM BST, meaning Indian fans will have to wait for the clock to strike 7:30 PM local time (IST) on Saturday 12th September for their first taste of the new Premier League season.

All five other EPL matches on that day will kick off simultaneously, including a London Derby between Arsenal and Fulham. Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, will play host to Everton.

Matchweek 1 extends to the evening of Monday 14th September in England, which means a 00:30 AM early kick-off on Tuesday, September 15th for Indian fans. One of those two games sees Chelsea travel to Brighton for their opener.

Late season kick-off for Manchester Clubs

With their extended involvement in Europe this season, both Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United will start their EPL campaign late, having been exempted from fixtures in the opening week.

City start their campaign on September 19 with a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, while United’s opening match, on the same day, is at home against Crystal Palace.

Manchester United and Manchester City will start their Premier League 2020-21 season from Matchweek 2.

The second EPL Matchweek will also treat fans to the first big clash of the season with Chelsea facing off against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. All Matchweek 2 fixtures will kick off at 7:30 PM IST in India.
