Arsenal host champions Liverpool in the big-ticket game on Thursday as the Gunners try to leave behind a loss in the North-London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Live streaming of this match will be available in India.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have taken their foot off the pedal since winning the title in matchweek 31. The Reds have since lost once and drawn a game in four matches.

Where they stand in the Premier League table

Arsenal’s quest for another season in the Europa League took a major blow after their loss against Tottenham Hotspur as they sit ninth on the Premier League table after 35 matches.

While they trail fifth-placed Manchester United by five points, Mikel Arteta’s men will be eyeing a European entry through the FA Cup as well.

With the title in their bag and a spot in UEFA Champions League group stage next season confirmed, Liverpool have little to worry about. They lead second-placed Manchester City by 21 points at the top of the table.

Injury updates and team news

Arsenal will continue without the services goalkeeper Bernd Leno, defenders Calum Chambers, and Pablo Mari, and forward Gabriel Martinelli – all of whom sidelined for the season.

Amongst the suspensions remain Eddie Nketiah, who was shown a red card in Arsenal’s match against Leicester City. This will be his second match of the two-match ban imposed.

Amongst Liverpool’s long-term absentees are captain and midfielder Jordan Henderson and defender Joel Matip, both out for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal vs Liverpool head-to-head

The fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool is known for their high-scoring encounters, with two of their matches in the last five seasons ending in a six-goal thriller (3-3).

Arsenal have faced Liverpool a total of 55 times in the Premier League so far, with the Gunners winning on 15 occasions and losing 21 times.

The North London club’s last win over Liverpool had come in the 2014/15 season, while Liverpool have been victorious in five of their last nine clashes against Arsenal. They have drawn the remaining four times.

Players to watch out for

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains Arsenal’s key player with the Gabon forward sitting second in the Premier League’s Golden Boot race with 20 goals, behind Jamie Vardy’s 23.

Arsenal will also hope striker Alexandre Lacazette to arrive to the party after the Frenchman seemingly regained his scoring touch with a stunner against Tottenham Hotspur.

For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah is also a Golden Boot contender, trailing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by just a goal. Sadio Mane will look to continue his scoring form against Arsenal as well.
