Djokovic and Nadal are the two players who have won the most men’s Grand Slam titles in the history of tennis. The 37-year-old Djokovic leads the list with 24 Grand Slam titles while Nadal, now 38, has won 22 Grand Slams in his prestigious career.

Djokovic beat Australia’s Matthew Ebden 6-0, 6-1 to make it to the second round while Nadal overcame Marton Fucsovics of Hungary 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in the opening round.
The last time these two players faced each other was in the quarter-finals of the 2022 French Open. Nadal beat the record Grand Slam winner 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 on that occasion.
The Spaniard has won three of the last five matches against his Serbian opponent.
Rafael Nadal had beaten Novak Djokovic 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 in the semi-finals of the men’s singles event at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
Nadal went on to win the gold medal after beating Chile’s Fernando Gonzalez in the final. Meanwhile, Djokovic settled for bronze after getting the better of James Blake of the USA in the bronze medal match.
Nadal has also won a men’s doubles gold medal with Marc Lopez at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
