Wrestler Reetika Hooda will be headlining India’s charge on the penultimate day at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Saturday.

India’s campaign at the Paris 2024 Olympics could come to a close on Saturday if Reetika fails to progress to the semi-finals. So far, India have bagged six medals in France - one silver and five bronze medals.

Reetika, the sixth and final wrestler from the Indian contingent, will begin her round of 16 campaign in the women’s 76kg freestyle category, where she has a slightly tricky road towards the podium.

The 22-year-old India will come up against Bernadett Nagy of Hungary in her opening round, who is a two-time bronze medallist at the European Championships. This will be the fourth match on Mat B, where the action begins at 2:30 PM IST.

If she makes it to the quarter-finals, Reetika could be up against the No. 1 seed Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan. Aiperi Medet Kyzy is a two-time Asian champion and won a silver medal at the World Championships 2023 in this category.

Golfers Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, who did not have the best of outings on Friday, will feature in the final round of the women’s golf event today.

Aditi Ashok, who finished just short of a medal at Tokyo 2020, dropped 26 places in the third round to be placed T40. Diksha, meanwhile, slipped further down the order to T42.

The Indian women golfers will be in action in the fourth round from 12:30 PM IST onwards.
