Emma McKeon at Paris 2024 Olympics: 100m butterfly swimming event - full schedule
Emma McKeon, one of Australia’s most decorated Olympians of all time, will feature in the women’s 100m butterfly event at the Paris 2024 Olympics swimming competition from July 27.
McKeon has 11 Olympic medals in her cabinet - more than any other Australian athlete. This tally includes five golds (joint-highest alongside compatriot Ian Thorpe), two silver and four bronze medals.
Emma McKeon won her first Olympic gold medal at Rio 2016. She was a part of the 4x100m freestyle relay team that broke the world record to bag a gold. She won three other medals - silver in 4x200m freestyle relay, silver in 4x100m medley relay and a bronze medal in 200m freestyle.
At the Tokyo 2020 Games, the 30-year-old won seven medals, the joint-most by a female athlete in a single edition of the Olympics. It was also the most medals won by an Australian in one edition.
McKeon won four golds in Tokyo - in 50m and 100m freestyle individual events, 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay. She also went on to add three more bronze medals.
At Paris 2024, McKeon will be headlining a 41-team swimming contingent. However, she will not be competing in the freestyle individual events, where she won two golds last time.
Emma McKeon will only take part in the women's 100m butterfly event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She is a bronze medallist in the event from the Tokyo Games. She may take part in the relay events in Paris as well.
