Paris 2024 Olympics canoe, Australia schedule: Australia to compete in 10 medal events across sprint and slalom
Australia will have 15 canoeists competing across 11 canoe events, five in sprint and six in slalom, at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
All canoe events will be staged at the National Olympic Nautical Stadium of Île-de-France in Vaires-sur-Marne from July 26.
Canoeing made its Olympic debut in 1924 as a demonstration sport and became a regular discipline from Berlin 1936. Walter Brown and Dennis Green were the first Australian canoeists to win an Olympic medal, bagging a bronze in men's K2 at Melbourne 1956.
Since then, the Australian canoeing team has tasted substantial success at the Olympics, raking up a total tally of 27 medals, including five golds. A majority of Australia’s canoeing success at the Olympics has been in sprint events, which has yielded four gold, five silver and 11 bronze medals.
Successes in slalom includes one gold, three silver and three bronze. Clint Robinson’s heroic efforts at Barcelona 1992 saw him win a gold medal in men's kayak single 1000m.

They are set to become the second pair of brothers to compete in Olympic canoe sprint events for Australia, following John and Robert Doak in 1984.
Jean won the men’s kayak double 1000m gold in Tokyo alongside Thomas Green but will face a different challenge in the same event this time, with the course revised to 500m.
Aly Bull and Alyce Wood will be making their third appearance at the Olympics, equalling Anna Wood’s record for most appearances by an Aussie in canoe sprint.
