The Canadian singer is set to spark more magic as her moving rendition the Edith Piaf classic "L'Hymne À L'Amour” becomes available on YouTube and other digital platforms.

From the balcony of the Eiffel Tower to portable music players, Celine Dion is set to captivate fans once again as her moving rendition of "L'Hymne À L'Amour” from the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is released on various streaming platforms.

The Canadian singer's performance of Edith Piaf’s iconic love song was her first live performance since being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome (SPS) in 2022. The rare neurological disorder causes muscle stiffness and spasms, which also makes it hard for Dion to control her vocal cords – a devastating blow for the 56-year-old singer who performed for an audience for the first time when she was five years old.

Dion announced on her Instagram handle on Thursday, 10 October that a live recording of her French-language performance from Paris 2024 is now available on YouTube and other streaming platforms such as Spotify.

“God brings together those who love each other,” Dion wrote in a reference to the song’s lyrics in which Piaf professes eternal devotion to the love of her life, French-Algerian professional boxer and world middleweight champion Marcel Cerdan, who died in a plane crash in October 1949.

France's most well-known singer never recovered from her lover’s untimely death and passed away in 1963, a few days before the 14th anniversary of his crash.

Dion's solo performance at the Opening Ceremony on Friday 26 July followed a period of therapy to rebuild her voice, and was hailed as one of the most spectacular moments of the Paris 2024 Games.
