In a move absolutely no one saw coming, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, the Olympic champion in the 1500m, and his Norwegian brothers Henrik and Filip have just released what could be the song of Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The brothers released the upbeat debut single “Ingen gjør det bedre” (“Nobody does it better”) as part of a bigger reveal: they have formed a boy band dubbed The IngebritZ.

The pop song is actually quite catchy. Filip Ingebrigtsen explains to NRK that the song is “primarily for fun,” and hopes it can be played both at the stadium and at the after-party.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who could be described as a bit guarded, serious and confident, lets loose in the accompanying video, where he’s seen dancing on the mountaintops in St. Moritz, Switzerland, alongside his brothers, who are also accomplished middle-distance runners.

The champion Norwegian runner has clearly been staying busy leading into Paris 2024. In addition to his fledgling pop career, he just became a father with the birth of his daughter Filippa, born 25 June.

Ingebrigtsen is set to defend his title in the highly contested men's 1500m, where he has been engaged in an intense rivalry with Great Britain's Josh Kerr. He'll also compete in the 5000m.

No word on when this iconic pop song will make its Paris debut, but one can imagine that Ingebrigtsen hopes to hear it in the celebration following the men's 1500.
