From 26 July to 8 September, France and the Seine-Saint-Denis département were buzzing to the rhythm of the Paris 2024 Games. To celebrate one last time, an exceptional day is being organised at the Parc départemental Georges-Valbon on Sunday 8 September. BigFlo & Oli concert, celebrations with the athletes, let's dive into what's on the agenda.

On Sunday 8 September, the world will have to turn a page and bring an extraordinary Games to a close. To celebrate the complete success of the event, Paris 2024 is inviting all sports fans to the Parc départemental Georges-Valbon for an exceptional day. With concerts, games and exchanges with the French team athletes, the programme promises to be sublime in an idyllic setting.

Up close to the champions

On 8 September, the Parc Georges Valbon will be transformed into a Champions Park! First of all, the Para athletics marathons will start at 8am. Then, as during the Olympic Games, the public is invited to come and celebrate the medal-winning athletes from the French team. From 10am, spectators will have free access to the celebration area in the heart of the park.

From 1pm, 50 athletes will take to the stage on the Skyliner, Europe's largest mobile tower, before crossing the crowd on the Champions Alley. They will then take part in a photo session and chat with the fans, giving them the opportunity to talk about their experience of the Games and to offer those who wish a privileged and unforgettable moment. On stage, they will join the public in watching videos recounting the highlights and the greatest emotions of the Games.

A magnificent program

To conclude the Paris 2024 Games in style, Paris 2024 has pulled out all the stops. As well as celebrating the athletes of the French team, the public will be able to enjoy a number of events. From 10am to 1pm, then from 4pm to 6pm, you'll find:

  • Skateboard and BMX demonstration workshops, followed by autograph sessions and discussions with the athletes, in the presence of Matthias Dandois (9-time BMX world champion).
  • A giant “Guess who?” with portraits of Paralympic athletes.
  • A phone booth to leave messages for the athletes and create authentic, unforgettable memories of the day.
  • A Danone activation, official partner of Paris 2024, in the dedicated zone with an immersive Danonino brand experience, accompanied by the presence of its mascot “coach Dino”.
  • Two Danette and HiPRO Tuktuk vehicles will be on hand to take visitors free of charge from the La Courneuve streetcar station to the Park entrance. A fun experience for young and old alike!

But above all, a pre-show for the Paralympic Games closing ceremony, featuring BigFlo & Oli. To further amplify the festive and sharing atmosphere of the day, the athletes' moment of celebration will be followed by a 1h15 concert by BigFlo & Oli. The two brothers, benchmarks on the French music scene, will perform their hit songs on the Parc Georges Valbon stage, in front of an audience of over 20,000. This will be the grand finale of the pre-show for the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, which will take place a few hours later at the Stade de France.

In Seine-Saint-Denis, the legacy of the Games

Symbolizing Paris 2024's ambition to leave a lasting legacy for people in every territory, Seine-Saint-Denis has always been at the heart of the Games project. Host to several Olympic and Paralympic venues (the Athletes' Village, the Media Village, the Stade de France, the Aquatics Center, the Bourget Sport Climbing Venue and thus the Games Park), the département has also found itself at the heart of Paris 2024's legacy programs. Since 2021, in conjunction with the Conseil départemental de Seine-Saint-Denis, Paris 2024 has participated in the development of "Savoir Nager" (Know how to swim) and "Savoir Rouler" (Know how to ride) in the département - in particular, more than 26.000 children from Seine-Saint-Denis learned to swim between 2021 and 2023 thanks to the "1,2,3 Nagez" program (1, 2, 3 Swim) . In 2024, 2.000 children in the département learned to ride a bike thanks to the Savoir Rouler program set up by Paris 2024 in conjunction with local authorities.

At the heart of the competitions, the legacy projects but also the celebrations, Seine-Saint-Denis will once again be in the spotlight with this very fine final day that will take us through to the Paralympic Games closing ceremony. The start of the Paralympic marathon, cycling competitions for schoolchildren, a parade of athletes from the French Olympic and Paralympic Teams, an XXL concert... the program will be rich in the largest celebration area of Paris 2024. I'd like to thank the Seine-Saint-Denis region for making us vibrate, sing and dream, and for offering us this new highlight!” emphasizes Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024.
