Team GB clinched their first equestrian Olympic mixed team jumping gold since London 2012 with a near-flawless performance at the stunning Château de Versailles, as the trio of Ben Maher, Harry Charles, and Scott Brash accrued just two time penalties to top the standings.

They kept the victory in the family, echoing the 2012 triumph where Maher and Brash, alongside Charles' father, Peter, and Nick Skelton ended a 60-year gold drought.

Reflecting on the emotional moment, Charles said of his father, who was cheering him on from the stands: “He has been such a big part of everything, and he nearly got a tear out there earlier.”

The team’s stellar performance, which began with a third-place qualification, culminated in their ninth gold medal at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Team USA claimed silver, while France took bronze, adding to the host nation’s delight in their historic venue.

American rider and two-time Olympic silver medallist Laura Kraut praised her equine teammates. “You’ll never see better horses jumping than what you did today. And our horses, they are the athletes. I wish they got one of these (medals), because they should.”
