Paris 2024 boxing: Yunior Alcantara Reyes and history-making David de Pina win bronze medals at 51 kg

**[Yunior Alcantara Reyes](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/athlete/yunior-alcantara-reyes_1908817)** of the Dominican Republic and Cabo Verde's **[David de Pina](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/results/boxing/men-s-51kg/sfnl000200--)** were awarded bronze medals in the men's 51 kg weight class on Sunday (4 August) at the <a href="https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024" target="_blank">**Olympic Games Paris 2024.**</a> Bronze medals are given to the fighters who make it to the semifinals but don't win the bout.

France's **[Billal Bennama](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/results/boxing/men-s-51kg/fnl-000100--)** won the first 51 kg semifinal over Alcantara, winning by points, 5-0. Later on Sunday, Uzbekistan's **[Hasanboy Dusmatov](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/athlete/hasanboy-dusmatov_1556045)** won by points, 5-0, over de Pina, **who earned Cabo Verde's first-ever Olympic medal.**

Bennama and Dusmatov will fight in the gold medal match on Thursday, 8 August.
