Republic of Korea's [**An Seyoung**](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/athlete/se-young-an_1891498) overcame the People's Republic of China's [**He Bingjiao**](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/athlete/bing-jiao-he_1913436) to win gold in the women's [badminton](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/sports/badminton) singles final at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena on Monday (5 August).

**[Gregoria Mariska Tunjung](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/athlete/gregoria-mariska-tunjung_1926315)** was awarded bronze, becoming the first Indonesian athlete to win a medal at [Paris 2024](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024), after [Carolina Marin](https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/athlete/carolina-marin_1950258) was [forced to withdraw from her semi-final](https://olympics.com/en/news/paris-2024-devastation-spain-badminton-star-carolina-marin) match on Sunday through injury.
