On 8 September, the medals will be awarded in the marathon events of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The circuit, which is different from that used by Olympic athletes, promises a magnificent spectacle!

Paralympic marathon, heading northeast!

On Sunday, September 8, on the morning of the final day of the Paris 2024 Games, the Paralympic marathon runners will challenge the legendary 42.195 km distance in a bid for gold. The event will take place on a course that embodies Paris 2024 by linking Seine-Saint-Denis, a key department of the Games, to the center of Paris.

After starting in La Courneuve and covering 26 kilometers in Seine-Saint-Denis, competitors will enter Paris via Porte d'Aubervilliers to begin the final part of the race, where two difficulties await them: the Buttes Chaumont and then the Champs-Elysées. These two segments will leave little respite for the marathoners to observe the iconic monuments and places of the capital that they will pass on their way. The race finishes later in front of the Esplanade des Invalides.
