New episodes of Olympic Channel’s original documentary series The Starting Line have been released, featuring five athletes who are seeking inspiration from the people and places that nurtured their passion as they pursue their Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic dreams.
The five new episodes spotlight Michael Norman (USA, track and field athletics); Alejandra Orozco (Mexico, diving); Takahashi Shunya (Japan, para athletics); Phil Kim (Canada, breaking); and Ni Nengah Widiashi (Indonesia, powerlifting).
Each episode takes you to a different part of the world, where the athletes relive their individual origin stories. See where they grew up, the obstacles they've overcome, and hear from the people that first ignited their love of sport.
Whether an Olympic or Paralympic athlete, the athletes all share in the fact that their journey towards the Games would have been impossible without the support of their friends and family.
The series is available to watch now for free on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and on the official Olympics apps for mobile and connected TV devices.

With the support of a loving family, hard work and dedication, she is hoping to reach the pinnacle of her career with gold this summer surrounded by her loved ones.
After an illness impaired his arm at age three, Shunya made it to the top of the university baseball league before turning into an all-star Japanese athlete. He is now putting his unique technique to the test in order to reach Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Canadian breaker Phil ‘Wizard’ Kim, who comes from a traditional Korean family, takes to the streets of Vancouver, where he remembers how he fell in love with breaking and recounts his relentless journey to do what he loves the most: to dance.
