The University of Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team begins its title defense at the 2023 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships on Thursday, April 13 at Dickie’s Arena in Ft. Worth.
The top-ranked Sooners, which won its fifth title in 2022, have dominated the season so far and will face No. 4 UCLA, No. 5 Utah, and No. 9 Kentucky in its national semi-final, with the top two scoring teams advancing to the national final.
The second semi-final will see No. 2 Florida facing off with No. 6 LSU, No. 7 California and No. 14 Denver. California surged at the recent Regional Championships, posting the highest finals score of any of the eight teams that advanced. Florida is dealing with a lower leg injury to its star: Trinity Thomas, who claimed the all-around title in 2022.
