Mikaela Shiffrin is the most successful skier at the alpine skiing World Championships since World War II.

Find out below a list of her extraordinary achievements in her six competition appearances (2013-2023):

  • Shiffrin has won 14 career medals at the world championships (7 golds, 4 silvers, 3 bronzes), one shy of Germany’s Christl Cranz's all-time record.

  • She has a full medal collection - gold, silver, bronze - in three different disciplines: slalom, giant slalom and super G.

  • 82.4%: That's Shiffrin's chance to medal every time she steps into the start gate at Worlds! In 17 starts, the alpine superstar has missed the podium on just three occasions: giant slalom at Schladming 2013 (sixth), giant slalom at Vail 2015 (eighth), combined at Courchevel-Meribel 2023 (DSQ2).

  • Only Cranz, who raced at Worlds from 1934-1939 when the competition was held annually, has won more world titles (12) than Shiffrin who is tied with Anja Pärson, Marielle Goitschel, Marcel Hirscher and Toni Sailer on seven.

  • She is the first skier - male or female - to win gold at six straight Worlds

  • Shiffrin is the fourth woman to win a World Championship gold medal in at least four different disciplines - slalom (4), super-G (1) and Alpine combined (1). She follows Pärson (slalom, giant slalom, super-G, Alpine combined, downhill), Goitschel (combined, giant slalom, downhill, slalom), and Tina Maze (giant slalom, super-G, downhill, Alpine combined).

  • Shiffrin is the third woman representing the United States to have won the giant slalom world title following Andrea Mead-Lawrence (1952, at the Olympic Winter Games) and Diann Roffe-Steinrotter (1985).

  • Shiffrin stands alone as the only woman to win four World Championship medals in giant slalom with one gold in 2023, two silvers (2017, 2021), and one bronze (2019).

  • With four golds, one silver and one bronze in slalom, Shiffrin extended her record from Cortina 2021 becoming the first skier to have won at least six World Championship medals in a specific event.
