Let’s Move … Every day
The Let's Move Street Challenge, supported by Worldwide Olympic Partner Samsung, originates from IOC's broader Let’s Move initiative, which launched on Olympic Day 2023. Celebrated on 23 June every year, this year's edition of Olympic Day also included a global call-out for people to embrace the joy of movement and start a more active lifestyle.
The Olympic Street Challenge builds on that with a special focus on young people. According to a study by the World Health Organization, more than 80 per cent of young people do not meet the activity levels required for optimum health.
Access and ability are two of the main reasons why young people often skip exercise. The Street Challenge addresses that by focusing on urban sports - BMX, breaking and skateboarding - which are accessible in busy cities and can also enhance the feeling of community.
'Let's Move Street Challenge': How can you submit your video?
To participate in the Let's Move Street Challenge, urban sports enthusiasts need to submit a 30-second video of their best BMX, breaking or skateboarding move via Olympics.com. Here's the link to the page through which submissions can be made.
A panel that includes expert judges and key figures in the three urban sports will judge the submissions based on their athletic and creative merit. Sports fans will also be able to vote for their "fan favourites".
