You can watch Lee Zii Jia on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com in selected territories. The Malaysian is the top ranked player in the men's draw for the BWF Super 500 event in Jakarta from 24-29 January.

Malaysian badminton ace Lee Zii Jia heads to the 2023 Indonesia Masters looking to find some consistency following a disappointing start to the 2023 season.

The 26-year-old suffered a first-round exit at his home event, the Malaysia Open, losing a three-game marathon to unseeded Japan's Naraoka Kodai on 11 January.

He had the chance to make amends days later in New Delhi, but did not make it past the second round at the India Open on Thursday (19 January). He lost another three-game match to Li Shifeng of the People's Republic of China.

Lee, who has struggled for form in the last two years, however remains focussed on finding “the breakthrough” in Jakarta where he is now the top seeded player after the withdrawal of world and Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen.

The Danish star pulled out of the Indonesia Masters shortly after his defeat to Kunlavut Vitdsarn in Delhi on Sunday saying “his body is not ready for another week of competition.”

In the third tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour, Lee opens his campaign against the first qualifier from the preliminary round.

The action from the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta starts Tuesday 24 January through to 29.
